I would like the whole family to stay in one house, hotel or rental condo near a beach but pay less than 1500 a week. Any other Key West activities, places to see or eat would be appreciated also.

Going on vacation to Key West (6 days) and Kentucky(4 days) hotels not included is $ 200/ day enough for dinner and drinks out or should I budget more? BTW i’m talking whiskey and coke drinks not Crystal

Yes, $ 200 per day is enough for normal restaurant meals, incidentals, and a reasonable level of partying.

I’m booking my honeymoon for Key West and was wondering what area of Key West has the nicest beaches (blue, clear water & white beaches)? I was planning on booking a hotel off of duval St. but I wasn’t sure what the beaches look like on that end…I kinda figured they would be nice b/c they are facing the Gulf. Thanks!

If you’re from MD, DE, NJ, NC, the “beaches” in Key West may let you down. Although they’re visually beautiful, they tend to be impractical because they’re VERY narrow (there’s not much beach).

I think the beach on Sunset Key is really pretty. You can pay about $ 20 to go, and you’ll just have to take a 3-minute ferry to get there from Mallory Square.

I’m so jealous– I was just there and I want to go back!!!

I realize that key west and inexpensive dont go together, but i am planning a trip to the keys for myself and my girlfriend and we are tight on funds. We wouldnt be planning the trip if we didnt have enough, but i would love to save a few bucks on room arrangements. Most of the places we found for March 10 2009 – March 14 2009 were about $ 150-$ 250 a night. Does anyone know anywhere that would be cheaper? Im not too picky, just would rather spend the money on food and drink than sleeping in a bed. We are 22 and want to be close to the bar scene, so no where outside key west, but it doesnt have to be quiet or loud or romantic or family oriented, just semi-close to Duval Street. Please HELP!!!!

stay in largo its cheaper or there is a holiday inn down there its not in town but its close i have stayed there several times and i paid 149.00 a night but it was suite type room with 1 queen bed and pull out sofa our room had a balcony and we could see the water they also rents boats and jet skis at the hotel

planning a vacation next sept 29- oct 6 to disney world for 4 nights and then we wanted to drive down to cheack miami or key west. which place is better?? i was looking for a cheap but nice hotel that will sleep 5, or 2 cheap rooms. would like something close to the beach. what is there to do that don’t cost much money? so if any one knows a good place to stay and great things to do that ould help alot.

Miami is better but a lot higher. As for a place to stay try this motel on US 1 in Fort Laurderdale, I think it is call the Holiday Inn or something and it is not to far from the beach and the mall. The Keys are a lot cheaper but noting to do if your really young but I think it is only a hour and a half to 2 hours away if you wanted to check it out anyways.

Owner Direct Vacation Rentals is the best site I’ve found for vacation rentals. They have a few vacation rentals in Key West right now: http://www.ownerdirect.com/accommodations/keywest.htm

And loads more vacation rentals all over that part of Florida: http://www.ownerdirect.com/accommodation/south-east-florida

I’ve been using this site for several years now, and haven’t found any customer service that can match theirs (and believe me, I’ve tried others!). They can put you right in touch with the owner of the home you choose, so there won’t be any surprises.
